Seatbelt Trivia - Round #2

OK, I hereby retract my previous acceptance of the Dope-of-the-Day Award... :-)
I again maintain my claim that the TTR (or at least my copy) doesn't
have the sliding plastic belt "clasp minder" that exists on the TTC.
Please note below a picture of the TTC sliding belt clasp minder:

Now observe some details of the TTR seatbelt; I can't show you the
clip that doesn't exist, but you can see below there is a large
rectangular sliding black plastic clip on the seatbelt; in this
picture I have slid it up slightly from the bottom.
This is NOT the clasp minder clip!
It is meant to cover the part of the belt near the floor anchor
position, where it is stiched over, probably mostly for protection
so the belt doesn't get damaged, and maybe also a bit for
aesthetics. The second picture below shows this clip in its
proper position, covering the bottom part of the belt. You can
slide this up further on the belt and try to use it as a clasp minder,
but the fit is somewhat loose, so it doesn't stay in position very well.
You can also see that the TTR has a round plastic dot embedded in
the middle of the belt just above the floor; this is where the
clasp lands; the TTC doesn't have this (because it has a proper
adjustable clasp minder).

I can't say this is a very big deal... but it would be nice to have a
"proper" slider. I didn't see any part # on the one in the TTC;
I suspect it starts in 2 pieces and it clipped together over the belt.
Maybe Audi *wanted* the clasp to slide all the way to the bottom
because they were afraid that the windy environment of the TTR
would cause it to bang around if it were positioned higher.
(And they didn't even give the driver side a clip because they didn't
want to worry about left-hand drive vs. right-hand drive? who knows...!?)

... in all honesty, I didn't feel left out until I realized that my wife's TTC
has the slider, and then it seemed kind of nice not to always be fumbling
around on the floor to reach the clasp... I can certainly live without it...
Mostly it seems like a mystery why TTC would have it, but TTR wouldn't.
(Kind of like that stoopid non-adjustable headrest thing, but don't get
me started on that again...)
