Hi all,. I always am grateful for the useful write ups here and would like to share some tips to augment the air pump write ups already out there. My first attempt to write this lengthy post got lost when I went to look for the pictures I wanted to link, so I'll keep it short this time.
After removing the charge pipe, note the air pump is mounted in a ring shaped bracket with 3 flexible mounting studs. Loosen these first. then loosen the the air inlet and outlet pipes and electrical connection. Instead of loosening the lower power steering hose next, there is a less messy alternative. Loosen the entire mounting bracket. its located by 3 capscrews into the block- one at the top, two at the bottom. the latter behind the pump body. Tools: 8mm male hex socket, and 1/4" drive ratchet with 6" extension.
these bolts are tight and an extension may be needed on the ratchet for more leverage to crack them loose. Loosen and remove the right hand bolt first as its visible, then the lh bolt. After this just loosen the upper bolt. Swing bracket out the way to the right to create room to pull out the pump. You need deft hands and some patience to get to the upper bolt.
Before fitting the replacement pump in reverse order, note that the new pump does not come with flexible mounting studs unless you ordered them. Remove these from the old pump and fit to replacement. The new pump from Pierburg is now assembled with bolts -no more cheap rivets. Entire job is a PITA and took me 3 hours on my own. Pictures to follow

every time I go o the picture poster to collect the URL for each pic, the post I was working on has disappeared when I return.
1.How do I grab and paste all the pictures and link them into the post?
2. How do I post this in the TT FAQ?

all 15 URL's in one go, to link into a posting? Every time I switch from the "post message" page to the "post picture" page the original post I was constructing has disappeared when I return to the "post message" page.
Could someone acces these pics by clicking on my account # link at the top of my post, and transfer them to FAQ with my write up?
thanks
Dirk
