Default Secondary Valve question: After speakin to two audi tech guys they told

me that the 225 has two?? diverter style valves...? with the primary being the usual one under the engine cover and the other one being in back outta of view near the motor? is this true? they said theres two valves due to their being two intercoolers? but only one turbo? they said they changed a couple of valves on a few TTs...I also spoke to someone at dealership who said he has had secondary DV changed.,,is their another DV or is it somekind of shunt or check valve...if so does anybody have any part #s or spec sheet....would like to check my other valve out to see if its leaking to...thanks

S4s and A6 2.7 Ts have two turbos, thus 2 DVs. I think they're wrong.

Default Sounds like they're smokin' something... never heard that before...

the TT has one DV. It may have some other valve someplace, but its not a second DV. It has nothing to do with the IC's.

all AFAIK, YMMV. :-)

The turbo does have a wastegate.... sounds like that is what they are talking about....

Default So does this mean that the top of the diverter valve is plumbed to a waste gate?

I thought the dealer guys were wrong to.....but the one tech guy is really good....he routinely gets invites to work on the factory LeMans cars....but I do agree that two dvs on a car with one turbo sounds wrong....

Default The wastegate is on the exhaust outlet of turbo, and there is...

some sort of solenoid or actuator that makes it work. Seems reasonable that is what they might mean. Now that I think about it, I did hear about a guy who had that part fail, and is was sending exhaust out the back via the wastegate instead of spooling the turbo. Car had very little boost at all = not much power. Its not a DV, but I suppose it could be the culprit in your case.

Default Hey evan do you have any spec drawings showing part and placement>?

anything would be great.....it sure beats banging side of turbo with small stick hopin for the best..lol

Default Bingo, just looked it up. It is called the "Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve N75"

and it is a solenoid valve.
