Default Seeking Roof Rack/Mount

Does anybody happen to have an OEM rack and snowboard mount that they would like to unload? Or where I may be able to find one? Please let me know.

Thank you!

Default Thule has TT specific roof rack...

I have both the bike mount as well as the ski rack on the car now. I also have the fairing to cut down on wind noise.

Default I'd go the Yakima mod rear hatch route too. >>>>

I have an OEM roof rack and it is a pain in the a$$. While it looks nice and bolts directly to the roof, the hatch is almost useless when carrying a bike or long boards, etc. It also makes quite the whistle when driving..... It's maddening!! I need to find or mod a fairing for it. Unless I'm going boarding, I take the rack off for most of the season. Mounting the Yakima on the hatch may very well make you a more happy camper.

Default Re: try and get the oem mount...

that's what i'm wary of with the third-party setups, markings left on the roof and window misallignment. but the price of a new OEM is deterring......

Would you want like to change systems? You can unload the OEM to me, and I'll cover the Yak setup....

I've seen this before. This is way SWEET! Props for ingenuity! I regularly carry 2 boards, so that would mean the hatch would be completely covered, no? But I'm definitely considering. Do the Q clips leave any markings?

Default I've been using the Yakima on Hatch for my bike

works just fine and is very easy to install and remove. I would think the only issue with a board is how much air it catches, since it might protrude over the roofline. Otherwise, it should be more aerodynamic than on the roof, I should think. I'm hearing far less wind noise than on my older roof setup with the same rack.

It's also nice to be able to repurpose the rack for other cars. I have some more pics on my poster.

Also, I would imagine there are a fair number of these racks on ebay; you may just have to buy new q-clips.
