Selling the car. Prepurchase inspection questions.
On a car (2002 TT Roadster) with 32,000 miles on it, what are the odds that it needs:
1. New rotors?
2. New struts?
We worked out a very aggressive price to sell the car quickly, and this mechanic seems to have loaded up the alleged problems.
Can you believe he cited an alignment problem??? It tracks straight and tire wear is perfect. Did he put it on a rack?

On your questions>>>
could rotors be needed after 32k? Sure, if the pads are aggressive enough and they do not meet the minimum thickness recommendation....
Struts....that is a tough call.....did he test the rebound on them? Did he drive it??? If not, it is unlikely that they he can tell they are bad......
If the car is out of spec...sure, it can be an alignment "problem", does not make it bad though....i would want clarification on that...
What type of car is it?

TT Roadster (2002). Pads were OEM and while low, there's still material left.
We took the car to an Audi dealer last week and their position on the brakes was that the pads were low and should be looked at in the next 5,000 miles.

in light of the fact that it is a TT>>>
i would consider the struts gone....they are the weakest link in the suspension and plan on replacing them. I did mine with 40k on them....
Material left is fine....how long is the next question? You could drive the car for 10k without issue, or more! I got 90k out of my OEM pads...just depends on how you drive it...
if the price is good, budget 1500$ for repairs in the first few months, and that should cover it...

to answer your questions..maybe..but that's low mileage to rationalize new struts
