Perhaps Fraud is too strong a word.
But I am at 15,000 miles and my TT started counting down shortly before that:
900 miles to service, 300 miles to service, then finally SERVICE! with exclamation and all.
So I take it in. Just to get a call that An oil fchange is a goodf idea, but fqactory will not pay for it. Factory only pays for 5k, 10k, and 20k, etc.
So 49.99 dollaras later I had a service factory says I did not need; though the service manager recommended it.
I thought pay nothing meant pay nothing.
Maybe everyone already knew this. I didn't

Since YOUR car which was programmed by THEIR engineers told YOU to get a service and THEIR service manager concurred, then YOU should not have to pay for this service.

IMHO an oil change is recommended by everyone I know other than the AoA or AG every 5K, or at least I'm way too uncomfortable with a service interval of 10K, no matter what the Audi manual has to say.
Audi will pay for changes at their recommended intervals, so of course you're on your own for what for me works out to every other oil/filter change.
If you want to complain about anything, complain that whenever you reset the service indicator it resets to 7500 miles or so which is neither the first nor any other interval and so seems to be a pseudo-random number...
Whether the oil change they recommended was truly a recommendation or just their way of getting $$ out of you I couldn't say, but at least at my dealership the people I trust admit "the Audi interval is 10K, but there's no way I wait that long in my car..."
