Shift Knob and Shift Pattern
#4
Shouldn't matter to you but I understand a concern w/ other drivers....
If someone else were going to drive it (not an issue for me), I would want them to know what the shift pattern was even if it shouldn't matter since most 5s are identical through that gear.

What was I saying .... oh yeah
Actually, short term memory has suffered with age and abuse.
I am concerned about others, not me.
Of course, the three years I had two A4's, other than dealer personnel, neither car was ever driven by anyone else. So it's likely to be fine with the TT.

Valets...
They would never be able to put it in reverse. Hell, some have prob with the shift pattern visible. I saw a guy stall my GTi like 3 times getting it out of the parking garage once...no telling how many times it happened out of site.

As an ex-valet...
It's true. No training goes into being a valet. I barely knew how to drive a stick when I started ( I was 19 then.) I remember getting into a Vette & stalling it 3 or 4 times before the owner ran out & told me the e-brake was on.
"No it's not...it's all the way down." I say.
" you have to pull it up, then push the button to release it," he says with his eyes rolling.
"Oh...." says I
Little things that the owners know but few others do.
I have to remember to turn the interior lights back on when I valet so they can see where the lights switch is. Nothing darker than the interior of a tinted TT, that has Ebony seats & no interior lights.
As always valet at your own risk...and $$$ does equal respect.
