Default Shifting on a 2002 Audi TT 1.8 Quattro from 1st whats the best RPM

i' having a hard time shifitng from neutral to 1st. The car usually shdders i'm guessing my rpms are too low or if i go up to about 2K it feels like a rubberband pulled back about to release. I'm not sure whats the best RPM to launch the car with the smoothest movement and lease wear on the clutch. When i shift from 1st to 2nd its almost like my RPMs were too high. Anyone got any tips on shifting?

I dont know if Im understanding this right but to shift from neutral to 1st gear it should be smooth at all times. To launch the car from a dead stop to race i launch mine at 4,000 rpms. Any hard lunch will wear the clutch a more than normal driving, let the clutch go easy you want to take care of your drivetrain when you launch the car.

i'm not talking about a race launch. I'm talking about a normal launch. What RPM should i let go of the clutch from neutral to move the car in 1st gear? If I brealy let go with just a little gas the car stutters and if I do it too much i feel like i'm racing. I just want a normal start like you do in a automatic.

I can let go of my clutch just idling while I give it some gas.

ditto I let the clutch and then give it gas. If I have had a few to drink then I may give it some gas as I let the clutch out so I don't kill it.

quattro does not like to have barely any gas usually. the shuddering is from the forces needing to go somewhere. u go too low, it stalls, you go alittle more it shudders, you go alittle higher.....everything is fine. just up the rpms about 500 and i bet it goes away. just don't do a clutch pop when you do.
