Default shock replacement.

In my manual, it talks about returning the the rear suspension to curb weight position before tightening the shock mounting bolts. Is this the cars full weight resting position? If I use a jack to raise the rear axle, would I raise it to an equivalent location as when the car is at rest?

Close enough. Yes, they mean lower the weight of the car onto the suspension (normally, on the wheels), then tighten the bolt, so that the shock bushings aren't deformed. If a jackstand is under the A-arm that will work too. MGH

Thanks, I am going to start my new suspension work tomorrow and I hope I have asked all the questions I need to do it correctly.

Default Be VERY carful putting jack stands under control arms!!!

They are NOT designed to take loads in that direction.
