not a big enough OEM market and original owners who might have justified the numbers have sold and moved on; the next tier generally won't go for it; I could see some sort of plastic or fiberglass drop-in amp-and-speaker assembly appealing to them though, or just a storage drop-in (as has been done, or attempted).
And I cannot see any good way to economically do a substitute unless you can source oem materials like carpet or headliner fabric or the material actually used. Injection-molded plastic, the prototyping cost I doubt could be justified given the potential sales.
