Default Short Shifter Question

Well, now that I've bought my TT off the lease, time for some more mods. After reading the various posts here, decided to go for the DieselGeek.

Anyone have any opinions on whether to go with the original or the race?

Thx.

I figure, if you are buying, might as well go with shortest throw...i went race and love it.

Default I got race. Very smooth and not really notchy at all. I test drove a new Z4 and RX8 specifically to

compare the shifts to mine and really was very happy how mine compared. While the others were smooth and light, I like the more positive feel of mine, but it is still smooth. Does any of that make sense?? Bottom line, go race.

Default I would go with the original.

The race is lighter and quicker, but not as smooth as it does not have the counter weight like the original. I tried out the race and could not get it to shift without it feeling notchy.
I ended up putting back the original shifter.
Also get a Raffi ****. Makes a big difference in the feel. IMHO
