Should I be flattered when someone tells me "oh, that's a really cute car you've got there"?????

Should I be flattered when someone tells me "oh, that's a really cute car you've got there"?????
Honestly, I try to not show that my aversion of that comment and politely thank those who say it.
But really...I don't think of my car as cute.
A puppy is cute, a kitten is cute...you get the idea. Why is the TT seen as "cute"? aarrgh!
I don't know if I can take hearing that comment one more time. My bf thinks I'm being over critical of this and that I take my car too seriously.
Seems like the TT is a moving target for that sort of thing. Especially after seeing the Jeep commercials.

I try to rationalize it that people associate the word "cute" with small things.
As you said, puppies... kitties.... but not as ubiquitously used for dogs or cats. Our car is small, and therefore I think people label it as cute.
A good test would be if the boxster and s2000 crowds get the same thing.

I don't think its a bad thing. in lieu of a different use of words, its possible that
the person is using "cute" as a generalization of a small roadster. I think you're taking it too seriously...which is why a fast "cute" car is not a bad thing...isn't that why we mod?
I rarely get that comment...maybe because my TT is black. who knows.

LOL.....Think "They like my Car"....people can be at a loss for words at their 1st encounter of the
TT and it just overwhelms them....I'll never forget my first time it was on the Autobahn in Germany 1999...they blew by us doin at least 200km...I started looking for one as soon as I got back to the states....obviously I didn't find one until a couple of years later

Ive gotten "that car is gorgeous" remarks,sometimes.....:)
one time in manhattan,a coupla years ago,I was stuck in heavy traffic,when the guy nest tome gives me the thumbs up,wth a great big genuine smile on his face.

I get it all the time, mostly from older people. seems like the younger crowd tends to say
"nice" or "cool". happened the other day... went out for lunch on a break at a job training session with a half dozen other people, all of us in our early 20's. everybody commented on the car (cool, nice, neat, etc) and while the small crowd was looking, an older couple (60's? ) was walking by and I overheard the wife say to the husband "isn't that a cute car..." I pretended to not hear... and mine is black too. however, i get it all the time
