Slick 50
I'm interested in people's opinion about using
Slick 50 or similar teflon based additives in a TT. I used a similar product in my A4. It seemed to make the engine run smoother. Are there ant negatives if it is used after proper break in

Re: Slick 50
Everything that I've read is pretty negative, so in my opinion, you should not use it. Here's a link with some information worth reading. I have more, if you need it.

Slick 50 etc.

Oh no!
Stick to a quality synthetic oil like Mobil 1, and leave the teflon out. Teflon based additives can leave deposits in places where you don't want them, such as in the oil passageways, which reduces oil flow. Also, the teflon can clog the oil filter, causing oil to bypass the filter.
A long time ago, I used Slick 50 in my '89, 90Q, and I've regretted that decision ever since. After putting it in, I was getting severe valve noise under heavy throttle (could hear it with the windows up and everything). They clattered for about 20K miles or more, before finally quieting down. Now, I can't prove that it wasn't just coincidence, but I believe the Slick 50 caused the valve noise in some way; perhaps by leaving deposits on the valves or something. I don't know. Good, qulity oil, genuine Audi oil filters, and regular changes are your best bet for keeping the engine in good shape. THe only time I would add anything else would be if you have nothing to lose.
Charles
