Slotted to edge = okay vs Slotted = best vs Drilled Rotors = show ... opinions ?

Seems like there is a lot of debate over what is the best rotor design. I read an article the other day that sugested slotted but not to edge of rortor was best as it caused the pads to heat up more. (this is for street)
Slotted not to edge = best ?
Drilled = For show ?
The stasis upgrade with alcon calipers are slotted but not to the edge ?

One of my buddies ran a temp check on his rotors after bedding in a set of pads. they were over 700 F. and that's just after a bed in. If all you do it drive on the street and you aren't very aggressive with braking, you don't need anything beyond OEM.

actually working. you will be surprised going down a hill when the pads have not heated up a bit...you will feel like you aren't going to stop.

wasn't bad and never ever faded doing spirited runs. i felt that it was a sacrifice in the morning, but never bothered me...although it was considered a street pad, but closer to a track pad formula.
i did feel that it would never fade on me no matter how much braking i did. but again, i don't auto-X.

the surface area. Lost of surface area would theorectically mean less stopping power. The other concern is the ability to dissipate heat. More mass means more space to absorb heat, then the brake rotor needs to be designed for highly effective convective cooling so the heat does not transfer into the fluid.
Consequently, I always prefer slotted over drilled. I had a set of Zimmerman drilled rotors and after a while the holes badly corroded and cracked.
Having said all this, I would guess there really isn't alot of difference since Brembo and Stoptech sale them both ways.
What do they run on F1 cars?
