snow tires in the rain

Hey - it was raining hard today. I still have the snow tires on the car (blizzaks), with about 10-15K on them. I didn't feel that traction was perhaps all it could be.
Are snow tires poorly suited for rain? I have the brand new wheels and tires which came with the car a few weeks ago (we put the winter wheels straight on there), if it's going to start raining instead of snowing, should I switch them now?

They're definitely not as good as most summer tires in the rain (as long as it's warm enough for the summer tires to "work") but they're not all that bad either. If you want the best performance, you'll have to get the summer tires on, but snow tires will work just fine in the rain.

Both perform fairly well in the rain...a good set of summers should be a bit better, but under most conditions not perceptible...the better question is when is snow NOT going to arrive any more in your part of the country?
