So I need help --- Mercedes ML55 or BMW X5 4.4 or Infiniti FX45
Those are my SUV picks
Sedan Picks
2003 Mercedes E500 or 2003 Mercedes C32 AMG or Audi S4 (v8) or 2002 M5 or 2003 LS430 or Jaguar S Type R
What is your SUV choice and what is your sedan choice and why
Basically looking in the $33k - $38k range - used.

E500 or S4 for sedan & VW 'reg for SUV.
The E500 is a nice sedan as is the S4. the S more sporty, the E more cushy.
The Touareg is better than any of those SUVs you listed & you should be able to get the V8 for under $38k.

Toureg and base Cayenne, or M5 or S4...
The Touareg and Cayenne are very nice rides for SUV's. I like how refined they are inside and out. They are very solid and feel comfortable.
The Infiniti is nice as well but for the price they go for I expect more. I never test drove one so I can't comment any further on it.
As for sedans, it depends what you are looking for... If you want a sports sedan s4 or M5 are great.
If you want a cushy ride then I'd go for E500 or even the S430, C32 AMG is nice but I find it rather small.

that's the usual price for the S model...but to get it in your price range you probably have to shop
outside of your area.
I can be done $36-38k private party.
You can get the base model for about $33-35K.
I was in the market for one and then I made the mistake of test driving the Cayenne Turbo. There's no turning back now but I can't justify $70K for a SUV. So that was that.
