Default Actually read it again. He said they asked if he wants the LIPS larger. Meaning WIDER rim meaning

you need to put on a WIDER tire. You can't put a 165 tire on a 8.5" in rim....extreme example but it works.

Default Does not necessarily mean wider wheel>>that is if he is looking at a multi piece wheel...

with a custom offset of the center piece, you can have the wide lip look without increasing the actual width of the wheel.

Default Having a wider lip does not necessarily mean wider wheel...it

could be all in the offset

Default That is LAME! Isn't the point of a wider wheel(the kind I am taking about) to run a wider tire and

put more traction to the ground?

I see how what each of us were saying differs. I was looking at it from a functional aspect and the offset issue is more of a "looks" setup.

Sorry for the confusion. But I don't understand why anyone would want to do it with just the offset and the same size tire. If you are gonna be a dog, why be a chiwawa?

Default I disagree, I'm not sure about you but if I ...

get into a corner at full throttle (on boost) I can kick the tail out with 255s on the rear. When my car had the factory forged wheels it was even worse. I have fun doing it though, so I dont mind!!

Default Hell no! dont change that order!

The TT deserves the "wider" look on the rears. I've had regular 18x8.5 (35et) all the way around and was disappointed at how anemic the car looked. The different offset of your rear wheels will FILL the fender wells out much better and give your TT a much more appealing stance.

Default I'm thinking the same wheels..

They told me they can make 3" lips at the rear. I will love to see 3" lips on your rear. Just give you some idea for 19x8 DTM Kreuz 10 Wheels on TT.
