Default I can assure you the 180 FMIC was developed with the most efficient method

being the main design criteria , sure we utilse the 225 intercooler that can only make sense to use the existing core as this keeps the cost down. Much of the work on this was done by and with Sean HoTTub Connor . There are many alternative intercoolers out there but you must look at the quality of the internal construction of the intercooler core as some of them are poor to say the least
