Default So why the discrepancy between lambda and o2 v. ?>>

I misread the meaning of voltage! Thought high voltage = lean. Actually....the opposite! One day I'll get it right!

So if the block 217 reading is correct....this car's AFR could in fact be spot on!!! That is after the fuel trim has had time to adapt.

The gauges will give me easier monitoring and some more toys to play with! : )

Default You have a wideband 02?

If not, it is a priceless tool......

Default

lambda = 1 means 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio. The voltage the O2 may show is around 0.82 something

Default

actually, I thought now that a high voltage like .82 indicates rich...~.65 lean

Default Multiply Lambda X 14.7.....>>

for the air/fuel ratio. over 14.7 is leaner, under is richer

Default [does google search since can't remember] - 0.465V is about 1 lambda :D

The lambda curve is pretty steep with respect to voltage. So yes, 0.82 means rich. 0.65 is probably closer to about 14:1 or 13.8:1, again because it's a steep curve. It oscillates though as it doesn't generate a DC signal.

per the intarweb

Default Which is why Conventional A/F gauges...>>

are simple 0-1 volt meters. Wideband is a different animal and registers 0-5 volts for much more resolution in conjunction with a wideband sensor...

Default But the dancing lights look cool :D Maybe why most A/F makes don't even bother putting numbers but

just red/yellow/green lights. I'd sure like to get widebands for the A4 and TT, but wow on $$.
