Today, the SoCal TT Club held its Salton Sea Run, which started in San Diego, wound its way through the snowy San Diego Mountains, down to the desert floor for lunch at the Casa del Zorro Resort, through the Anza Borrego desert to the smelly Salton Sea, and finally, through the foggy, snowy, 28 degree intense twisties of Palomar Mountain.
Though it was A LOT of driving (the event lasted 8 hours), I had a great time and was surprised that I got so few cancellations (where were you, Gina?). I hope everyone else had fun too!

We would have loved to have you along. A couple of aTTendees asked where you were.
Obviously, it would have been a lot of driving for you, but I think the run went pretty well. Catch you at the next one, or at Assville!

I've done that run about 6 times, twice in the TT. I've found the TT doesn't do well in the downhill twisties compared to my Miata but uphill is awesome. I seemed to do better with ESP off. Anyone else feel the same?

Glad to have you and Mary along. It's nice have visual confirmation that you actually exist!
I enjoyed the run a lot as well. If I had to do it over, I would definitely scratch the Oasis Station search. That would have shortened things by 30 minutes. I also think that the same run, but stopping at Anza for lunch, and then heading back or somewhere closer, would be fun too.
I'll probably do this run again one day, but I'd like to shorten it just a bit.
