I wasn't happy with the way either the velcro or heavy duty double sided tape was securing the gauge pak so for the cost of two sheet metal screws the gauge pak is now really secure, won't drop and is vibration free.
I removed both of the aluminum braces on each side of the transmission tunnel. The braces fit in a recessed channel in the plastic cowl each side of the radio.
I carefully drilled a 1/8" hole through the plastic housing into the gauge pak. Then I installed a 3/4" sheet metal screw through the plastic and into the gauge pak. (see first pic)
The hole is drilled inside the channel that the brace fits in so when the brace is reinstalled you cannot see the screw.
Now the whole assembly is really secure !!!!!
