I'm just kidding - I think. This is from something Jeff Bipes posted yesterday about the forthcoming MY 2005 TT... They mean twin clutch plates, right? What do they mean? What is the advantage? Why is it innovative? etc?

Default ARrrrrgh stop the madness!!!!!

Why oh why do they show beautiful Avus Silver Roadsters with Bucket seats (not available in US) in relation to a new engine article.

To my knowledge the only TT that's getting the high power V6 is the re-design due as you say, in 2005/6 so it won't look anything like the current one (or so we've seen)

OK Rant over - morning Rahul!

That's all you get - I already sympathized/co-ranted on your thread below. Now, explain the clutch conundrum, please... :-)

Default Look you, if I wanted extra mold on my blue cheese...

heh, heh - I have no idea where I was going with that - today I am both coffee and sleep deprived - good thing I walk to work! ;-)

So, what's the new siggy all about?

Default And if I wanted more exercise while driving...

yeah, i gotta get more coffee too. lol

well, the new sig just needs to be hosted. then i'm back up with a sig... i dunno what happened.
naidsaith (Nancy) used to host it for me, but then one day, it just stopped working. so, back to the drawing board. it was time i got a new sig anyway. it's not incredible...it just gets me back in the game. the sig after that will be sick. i have a great idea!!!!

Default Think hydraulically actuated clutch with paddle shift like Ferrari's currently use

it IS coming and i'm trying to get details but VAG is pretty tight lipped about it now. It's similar to SMG by BMW as well.

Default Cool!

Do you think this would be offered in lieu of the auto or manual, or as the only tranny? These transmissions are quite expensive, compared to more conventional types, aren't they? Is that just a matter of relatively new technology and economies of scale?

Default Have no idea - but I would assume it would be offered in lieu of an auto tranny

but with the CVT being developed for the transverse platform cars - it's anyones guess. I have a feeling it will be offered only on certain cars at certain HP levels.
