They set it up so that one can feel the shift points in auto mode where before you could not, like a CVT?

Essentially, yes. But more like a casually driven conventional automatic.

Default Not so sure that sounds like an improvement?...

What do you think? Everything else remains the same? Sport mode still decent? Is this a plus or a minus?

Of course, the donwside is that then SWMBO will have no compunctions about driving my car.

Since the recalibration didn't slow the shift speed on the manual mode, the only minus is that now some scum-sucking low-ife that would have bought a 180 Tip before can now get a proper TT.

Seriously, the rework is a plus if you use the lazy mode just once in traffic.</font>
