Default Sorry to dredge up the C&D roadster comparo again BUT

they gave the TT the same score for styling, 9, as the Honda S-2000????? To my eyes the S-2000 looks like a bar of soap! I won't go into the best handling-accelerating vs. the best overall package again- 'nuff said about that.

Just read it. Damn they slammed the TT hard.
Modded, I'm sure my TT would do much better,
but I guess you shouldn't have to pay 5K over the orignal cost to hang with the other players.
Glad I got a modded one used.. : )
And btw I drove the 350Z before I got my TT.
It was fast but the shifter was the worst I've ever experienced, it was like a truck, super notchy, almost had to force it into gear.
Made you not want to shift at all.

Default Let's see, 4-5 track days per year, and 360 days of absolute bliss. Hmmmm, I'll take the TT.

I would bet my TT would hang with any cars in that group even if they were modded.

My other point is regarding track days with a TT. How many people do you know that truly ring every ounce out of every car on a track. Very, very few. I am sure I am still a long way from getting all there is to get out of my TT on the track.

Each day after being at the track and cruising around slowly with my wife I am amazed at what the TT did yesterday, and what it is doing today.

Default You're right with the S2000 - who wants to ...

... wring the **** out of the thing on a daily basis just to get in the power band? 9000 RPMs would get mighty old if you had to do it all day long, every day... I couldn't even stand it when I was test driving it.

Default As a former S2000 owner I can tell you this...

Yes it is a fantastic sports car, but like they say you must drive it like you stole it to really enjoy it's performance.
Driven normally, you actually have to work it to keep up with a Focus off the line, by that I mean you have to use higher than normal revs and throttle because of poor low end torque.
As far as the interior, it is devoid of any luxury or style, it's perfect for an autocross because there's nothing to catch your eye.
The stock stereo is horrific, the trunk space minicule and storg space in the interior is non existent.
Yes it will do 0-60 in 5.8 secs but that requires a brutal 7.5K rpm clutch drop.
I much prefer my MTM equipped TT coupe.

Default I test drove a Z3, 350Z, and S2000 before I bought my TT . . . .

and I have never once regretted buying my roadster.

to be fair, the tt-r doesn't have a lot of storage space either. ;-)
