Default spacer or no spacers?

how can i make my setup look like this? currently, i'm on stock wheels/springs/shox. i've seen so much talk about spacers, is this the reason?

also, i've seen 19" squeezed onto a tt(can't remember where) - has anyone done this?

Default Theoretically if you got wheels w/ the right offset you wouldn't need them but that is unlikely

unless you spring for custom wheels a la HRE, Fikse. Spacers are simply the easiest, cheapest way to get the look we all crave. The cars pictured are also lowered.
