Default Spacers for Fat Fives...

May end up with a new set of wheels...we'll see, but I've always been a fan of the Fat Fives. However, as a few said in my thread where I posted the car initially, I need spacers (which is something I knew from day one).

Car is a 01 225Q Roadster, stock Fat Fives (in near perfect condition, so I'll run them until I find the perfect wheel with dish). Car is lowered with H&Rs and bilsteins...

I'd like to flush the fat fives with the fenders on the car. Can anyone recommend the best thickness of spacer to use to accomplish this from experience (yeh...I know about the spacer calc...guess I'm a bit lazy tonight).
I'm thinking somewhere in the range of 10-12mm? 12mm in the rear due to the Quattros slightly more narrow track in the rear....10mm up front?

Joe

Default I went slightly conservative, 20 rear and 12.5 front, I used ECS......

gives you about the same ratio as 25 rear and 15 front, but not as much poke.

Default I run 10 F, 15 R on OEM 9 spoke wheels (18x8), with eibach springs and bilsteins

If you saw my car you wouldn't think it was spaced, it just looks right, very OEM. Previously I ran 15F/20R and the front was stupid looking, the tires were too far out for my taste, it just looked silly.

I could get away with running 12.5 F/ 20 R if I wanted to be a little more aggressive, but I would never go beyond that for my level of lowering. With the H&R's being lower than the eibachs your wheels will be a little more sucked in, so you might be able to run 15, 20 without it looking bad, but my vote is 12.5/20. You can always sell the spacers for a small loss since people on the forum are always looking to try a little more or a little less to get it perfect.

Default 25 rear and 20 front is dead on awesome<

I ran 25 front and 25 rear and it was just too big up front but only by very little. I'd go with the 20 over the 15 becuase you can get them in the bolt on DRA (H&R) style. I hate longer bolts, especially when they are getting that long!

No spacers:

25F/25R spacers:

Also bonus! No spacers at all and no suspension and NO MODS except cool VT plates. This is the weekend I bough my car and it's first wash. Purchased November 26th 2005
