Spacers: understeer, size, and results
- About to get new wheels, and may go for spacers to get them outboard a bit.
- Why do some of us use different F/R spacers? Larger R spacers move the car towards understeer, and I'm not aware that the TT has notorious oversteer I need to correct.
- What size seems best-suited to moving a 42mm offset wheel outboard 'flush' with the lip of the wheel arch (Yes, I'll check jounce clearance)? 15mm, 25mm, yadayada?
- whose attach best, are hub-centric, and either anodized or cad? Does anode/cad matter? Sources?
TIA

Re: Spacers: understeer, size, and results
My wheels are 17X8 Rondells with 35mm off set, I went with 15F Spacers, 25R Spacers from H&R and also have Eibach and Koni Sports. I don't feel the endersteer and the care handles great. No rubbing and the car looks so much better with the wheels flush with fenderwells.

I've got 18x8.5's, no spacers but wheels are ET22 and made specific for the TT-->
You'd need at least 20mm spacers on the 42's assuming you have same width. As per pic below, you can see they're just tad inside lip.

Getting 15mm H&R-
Should make total offset 30mm.
The TSW 42 ET actually clear everything but just barely. besides, I wanted to move the track back out.
THANKS for the advice!
