Default Speed Ventures at Buttonwillow?

I'm thinking about going out to the next speed ventures at Buttonwillow in April. Has anyone done it before? How was the experience and what was the available instruction like? Thanks

Default I didn't do Buttonwillow with them, but I did all three Willow Springs tracks:

Streets
HorseThief Mile
"The Big Track"

They are a very good group to run with, in my opinion, and have some good instructors. I forget his name, but there is an instructor that owns a Miata, he is skinny, dark hair, and sells parts for the Miata. He gave me some lines that were NOT like the rest of the people, and they were great lines - I liked him a lot.

That sounds great. I'll probably go for it then. How much track time did you get ?

Default 4-5 sessions per day are what your run group normally gets (20 minute sessions), but you

can often jump in to additional groups of lower rating if they are not too busy. It is a pretty "loose" run deal, but if you screw up (spins off track, etc.) they will take you off track.

They have a session at Laguna coming up later this year as well... Wish I could make it there, but moved back to the midwest in September : (

Default Highly reccomended. We've done several with them, always a good time.

One of the safest and nicest track days you'll find.

Default LOL

That guy spun out 3 times in one lap at the last SV events at SOW last month. 3rd spin got him stuck coming out of the bowl so he couldn't spin anymore.
Not one to inspire much confidence in my book.

Default More offs and incidents with that group than any other group I've run with.

Except for Speedtrial, which was horrible.

2 engine fires, 1 porsche with no brake lights (self tech, hello?), an instructor going off at least 5 times, 3 in one lap, and a guy drifting during one of the sessions.

They allow passengers, and even in our advanced group, I had the passenger giving me a pointby on one side, and the driver pointing me by on the other, wtf?

Not a great event for beginners. Their beginner groups are downright scary at times.
