Default Speeding ticket in NJ as TT lead the pack

Was going 65 (in a 50 zone) down the Palisades Pkwy a few exists before the GWB. A bunch of cars drove up my back so I took it up to 75 to relieve the pressure. Of course right around the bend was a cop. I knew that was it since I was first in line. The lights were on and the chase began. All the tailgaters behind me take a hike to the right lane, and the TT stood out from the crowd like a basketball player in Chinatown.

The cop was nice enough to drop the ticket to 70 in a 50 and said that if I show up in court he would drop it to a no-point violation. He then warned me about deer in the road and how my small car couldn't handle hitting one.

Anyway, do NJ tickets show up on my NY record, and do I have to worry about points?

Default good question

I am surprise you got nailed doing 75 though...a deer impacted correctly will fup any car...and I'd still rather hit one in the TT then anything else...

Default NJ honors NY tickets. i never speed going down the palisades towards or away from the GWB...

there's a few spots that cops always hide out in...and will nail you or anyone going over the speed limit. there's also a few spots up in rockland county that they hide in as well...like around exit 5.

there was a speed trap by exit 2 not long ago...saw 5-6 troopers reeling in speeders...it was brutal.

Default yep on the deer...totally agree>>>

but on the drivers license, i am pretty sure NJ/NY reciprocate....

It would be a good idea to show up for the no points, but you will still recieve some kinda "penalty" on your drivers license....happened in CT here for me...Good luck

Default In Wisconsin...

Points do not transfer if you recieve the violation outside state lines. Pull up your states DMV site and check the point transfer rules.

Default a deer

would be a hell of alot less likely to come crashing through our tiny windshields then that of some suv..unless it's hoof 1st, in which case we are all screwed..

Default Yea brotha, go for it :)

I spoke with my cop buddy and he confirmed no tickets transfer outside of state lines. HOWEVER, don't get a DUI or any thing of that nature, those carry over!

Default I wonder if Missouri is the only state that has this.....

My wife and I each got a ticket within a month of getting the TT.

We both went to the "Traffic Law Center" and they contact the municipalities to negotiate. You pay the original fine plus about $50 extra to the township plus about $125 in lawyer fees, and the township agrees to knock it down to a non-moving violation.

Mine was reduced to illegal parking, and my wifes was negotiated down to littering. Thus, no record of any ticket for insurance or license points.
