Default Squeeeeeeeaky brakes >>

I got the Stoptech Stage 2 brake upgrade installed about a week ago. That consists of pads, rotors and some SS brake lines. They still need some breaking-in time. But is it normal to hear squeaks and squeals with new brakes?

Default Some squeaking in the beginning isn't unusual >>>

Are they bedded-in properly?

If it bothers you just make the radio louder. :-)

Default Just did mine (not stoptech), no squeeking but I do have an initial scrubbing sound when I hit...

my brakes. Seems to do it more when cold. Only noticeable with windows down.

Curious if it's just how the pads are (Hawk HP) or just need some more bedding in time.

Default Maxi-Squeek...:-)

If you beveled the edges and used Disk brake Quiet, maybe you just need to go out and bed them in hard..

Default The last time I did my brakes (EBC red stuff ceramic) >>>

they squeaked and made a sound like you describe (even with wurth abs brake quiet). Both went away after a couple of hundred miles.

Default You comment on "breaking-in time" leads me to believe

that you aren't following StopTech's procedure for establishing the transfer layer. How are you "breaking" them in?

Default They were lightly bedding in before I got the car back...

Then I was told to drive normally (or in exact words...not like an a$$hole) for 2 tanks of gas.
