Default SS Brake Line Question

I'm looking to upgrade my brakes/lines in the future and noticed that everyone who has installed SS lines has zip ties around where the line feed throw the strut. I'm assuming then that no grommets are provided with the lines? I was curious if any knows:
1. Diameter of the SS brake line
2. Diameter of the hole? Or the dimensions if it isn't round.

I'm thinking about making/finding a grommet to use when I do mine. If anyone else is interested I'd be happy to keep you posted on what I find out.

TIA

Default Actually, the lines from ECS had the right fitting to go there. However, this is a Boxster upgrade

kit, and it did not. Also, the fitting ID is smaller than the fittings on the end of the hose, so you can't slip one on. You could make a two-piece keyed bushing, but $.15 in zip-ties works well too...

Default Here is the "correct" line, replacing the OEM line only, from ECS. As you can see, no zip-ties...

Default

So you can't use the OEM ECS lines for the boxster upgrade?

Default The hose fitting that connects to the caliper is different. I think you could use the TT one on the

Boxster caliper, but not the other way around. I got the Boxster lines with the calipers, so I took the TT ones off so I can sell them. Interested?

Default I spit a grommet....>>

slipped it over the line and centered it in the retainer. Then tapped that metal "Tab" in to hold it in place.
