I'm shopping for snow tires and wheels for my 2001QC. I am in Vancouver.
Steel wheel prices are all over the map (US$58 from TireRack, CDN$131 from Audi dealer), but Audi of Richmond just offered me 16" steel takeoffs from a VW Beetle for CDN$50 a piece!
Why shouldn't I do this?

and VW logos. They are black and bad *** looking no matter what you get so get the cheapest ones.

lug pattern and offset as the TT. But the Beetle wheels I tried (recommended by Tire Rack, no less) were alloy, not the steel ones.
