Default Steering wheel question PICS

Disclaimer:I have a show car so airbags are not important. This is done for show purposes.

I purchased a MOMO steering wheel, after looking at the adapter and airbag resistor, I thought I would have an easy time with the replacement. But after I took the audi steering wheel apart, I was greeted by a surprise. First, there is no steering wheel nut, It is a star point thingy.

My question is when I do remove the steering wheel, is there like a spline on the steering shaft just like the common steering shafts on older cars? Does anybody have a picture of the column with the steering wheel removed? Has anybody tried to install aftermarket wheels (for show purpose).

Default here's how..

I did this on my A4 before so assume the TT will be the same. Yea when you remove the steering wheel it will be a spline like all cars.. You will need this tool to remove the steering wheel

Hope that helps.

I believe that uses a Torx T55 socket.

Default Tool is a 12mm triple square

If you have the actual correct adapter for a TT it should have come with a resistor to trick the airbag light.. If it did not then it probably is not the correct adapter for your car. I have one in my MK4 jetta and have no problems.. This only the momo adapter that I know of others don't give you the resistor.. Your other, and safest option would be to get the tool from the dealer that is used while working on the car. To trick the system into thinking its still there...
