Default Stereo high pitch noise

I'm noticing some high frequency chirping sounds coming out of my Bose system in my TT. At idle there doesn't seem to be anything but accelerating or decelerting seems to accentuate it but they don't seem to be completely in synch.

Note turning the stereo off completely eliminates the sound so I know its not just the turbos. The sound is somewhat similar to noise interference I used to experience on my PC sound card every time the hard drive started up.

Anyone else have similar problems or recommended solutions? It's just noticeable enough to be annoying.

Thanks,

Mark

Default Does it happen only when the rear defrost is on?

If so, it's a known issue documented in the tech bulletin site.

Default mine does the same thing as well as a few other people here... it is said the stereo

has bad grounds. There is a ground connected to the cd changer that has been eliminated and fixed a few some said it was the antenna (does it do it with am radio?) I think my fix is going to work the best. Rip out and replace the bose system.

Default Known problem, Audi has no fix...

This isn't the rear defroster issue, but rather supposedly Haldex signals getting into the system.

Audi has known about this for over two years now, and still has no solution... :-(

Default There is a tech bulletin. Talk to your service center, they will have it soon.

Not all the service centers have the tech bulletin yet, but talk to them, tell them you've heard there is a tech bulletin on the VW site for this problem and they'll let you know when they get it. it's out there, shouldn't be long now.

Default The TSB addresses the problem when the defroster is on, not this one...

Not the whine in the AM radio or the beeping noise when listening to the CD changer.

There is still no fix for either of these, just for the whine when the defroster is on problem, and even then only for MY2000 TTs...

CD Changer, Noise (Alternator Whine) Can Be Heard With Rear Defogger Switched ON

Default Re: Does it happen only when the rear defrost is on?

No. It happens all the time when driving. Similar symptoms to that indicated in the defroster service bulletin.
