Default Stereo Speaker question for Jeff Bipes...

HACK THS suggested I post this question for Jeff. My 02 TT Coupe has the factory Audi Concert stereo, Bose emblems on the front lower speakers, and the 6 disc CD changer. While fooling with the tone controls today I tried the Fader control and when I adjusted it to the rear speaker selection..NO SOUND!

I took the car to a stereo shop last week to pull the stereo to get the codes (loose battery terminal). I had only had it a few days before that. Now I cant remember if the rear speakers worked before, or if there are even any rear speakers at all. What would have been the stock setup for that year and stereo, front and rear, or front only?

Any and all input appreciated.

Michael

Default Probably needs to be recoded. Does the Stereo say BOSE when you turn it on?

The Fader is supposed to be disabled on BOSE coupes, if I remember correctly.

Default Re: Stereo Speaker question for Jeff Bipes...

Not sure if this helps, but I have the bose in my Audi Roadster.. There are the speakers in the doors along with the tweeters.. then if you look just behind your seal about waist high there are two vents with perferated holes.. those are speakers as well. I am not familiar with the coupe - but they should be there. There is a diagram floating around of the stereo system for both cars... Hope that gives a little insight..

Bose disables the rears. There is no fader for the Bose system.

Default Thanks to all for the help.....

Thanks to all for the help. Found a link to an Audiworld article about the BOSE designed system and it confirmed that the TT sound system was purpose built to give maximum sound quality without adjustments.

Went out, put in Twilight Zone by Golden Earring, cranked up bass, mid and treble to max, kicked up the volume and Voila, ALL 7 SPEAKERS WORK! No need to fiddle with fade control.

Thanks again

Michael
