Maybe you are one tick low on coolant. If it's just below the level in the tube with the sensor, it'll read a little hot sometimes. I had a slow leak on mine (so slow that it would evaporate off the block after it hit it), until I finally replaced that plastic flange that eventually warps that meets the drivers side of the engine.

Default yeah you def don't need to drop the radiator...

either get it jacked nice and high or on a lift, we could have replaced it right there in a few minutes, but my mechanic had an old mercs to work on... it might be worth a try.

The Bentley doesn't have a good picture of the control module. Anybody have one?
