On my '01 225TTR with only 20K miles, have occasionally but more frequently lately had a pretty loud noise with I start in the morning. Kind of a eeeeeeaaaaaaaappp that stops quickly when I rev up. Getting longer (15 seconds) now when it happens. Mechanic says belt and tension look OK. Any thoughts?

if the noise continues - there are about 2 other things that it could be, fuel pump...and something else.

post back if the problem is not the CC.

been a while since i've been on here and happened to catch this discussion. bad news is that when this was done, it was starting to warm up a bit.now that it's getting cold again, don't you know, the noise has shown up, and it seems like more frequently. i have noticed that it doesn't make the noise if the Climate Control is off and have explained this to the svc manager/techs but they don't seem to think it's related. my (and Schwing's) guess is the AC compressor clutch and suggested that. they thought i was nuts. i used my digi cam and caught the rare phenomenon in action and brought them a CD to put in their computers and listen to it. they're all baffled. i'll just let them keep replacing **** till they get it right i guess. if anybody figures out what it is, let us know. it's obnoxious.

Mechanic at Auto Centro says no noise this morning, they give up. It has been getting more frequent and more likely to happen when cold, so guess I'll just keep driving 'till it gets worse or craps out. Thanks for the ideas.
