Sorry, forgot a couple other pieces of info...2000TT, 10K service done. I am just wondering is the Service! message is normal on startup.

Not sure, I am the second owner...the first owner gave me the records for the 10K service. It has been doing that since I got it. I think you are right, there is no 15K service, next one at 20K.

I got the same message at 7700 mi.- my last service was 1 year ago.....
I assume that the service light comes on based on mileage interval (10k, 20k, etc.) or a time interval of 1 year, whichever comes first. This would match the service manual.
