Well when i wanna pass people i look like a fool cause my car seems to misfire and stutters when i hit that pedal, but normal or slightly fast she accelerates smooth.

I presume others have had problems with this because of the coilpack recall on the 1.8Ts and my symptoms seem to match.

Anyone else have/had the problem and can share what they did to fix it?

not under warranty but will audi still hook me some free coilpacks since its a recall?

u need to call AUDI with ur vin# to see if it fall under the tsb,they
should be able to tell u,but that sounds like coil packs or spark plugs
being bad, hope that helps,

Coil packs are cheap, you can get a full set for around $100 takes about 15 minutes to install.

Install new plugs at the same time.

Thanks for the feed back, ill be getting myself some coil packs reguardless what the stealer does, its a 2001 225ttq, not sure if it falls under the 2001.5 recall but im soon to find out.

HI guys I'm new to the forum. sign up because of a A/C problem but i saw this tread and wanted to contribute. Less the 3 months ago i had my 2001 Audi tt mk1 1.8t fwd go to the stealership for a bad ignition switch and had some work done, when i was there they also replaced the coil packs that fell under recall. kinda mad because i swap two of them out myself a few month early. Any ways i now have 4 new coil packs for free. still given that im not the original owner and the car is not under any warranty. Hope that helps.
