I've done the search thing and want to know if you all think this is a good idea or not !
I'm nearing 5000 miles and want to know if I should change my oil/filter with Mobil One Syn. Oil or.... keep topping it off with Mobil One Syn. Oil until I reach 10,000 miles for my one year oil change? I'm pretty much clueless with this oil change thing, so thats why Im asking and hoping you all will lead me in the right direction.....
Also, I live in humid weather and it never gets below 60 degrees and was wondering what will be the best weight of oil for me?

I would change the oil at 5000 (I changed mine at 1000). Go with Mobil 1 European Car formula if you want 0w40. When you say topping off.. how much have you been low?

I haven't been low yet.....But I read alot of people saying that it burns alot of oil for the first 10,000 miles...

I wouldn't let the car go one year with the original factory oil. The whole point is that impurities and all the crap from a breaking in new engine will be in there... and you want it out. So.. I would get it changed.

Your service manual says 5k miles or in 6 months...

regardless of mileage? you saying change after 100 years after manuf. or delivery?

I wouldn't wait a year to change my oil if I wasn't up to mileage by that point. I got the factory fill out at maybe 1100 miles or so... then I changed it again at 5k. I change at least every 5.. sometimes more.
