Default Sunroof install scheduled....>>

Thanks to Jenner, Dave, and Dick for breaking wind on this one! Found a high end trim/interior shop in Raleigh (NC) and stopped by today. They even had the correct roof (SFC Newport 18x28DCS) in stock as it's pretty much the standard roof for New Beetle installs. Next Monday AM we go under the knife (nibbler).......

Won't that ruin the warranty? Will audi offer the sunroof in the TT in the future?

Default Don't think I'll ever exercise the roof sheetmetal warranty....>>

This has no impact on the car structurally so no warranty items are affected. Audi may but when? Follow the thread for pics to Jenner's install...

Original Sunroof thread

Default You're my inspiration!!!.....>>>

Jenner...looks like, from studying your pics, that you've about got it positioned perfectly. Do you have the measurement from the windshield to the leading edge (or the antenna to the trailing?) Wanna get it just right!

Thanks!

Steve

Default From the end of the windshield glass 10.75" from the antenna 2.75"

I would have liked it a little further up, but if you look at the inside shots, it really isn't possible with the light cluster.

Default mine is exactly 1/2 inch closer to the windshield -- virtually identical to...

jenner's position...seems to be the right spot!

Default Steve, if that's doable then I would do it in economisTT's position. Like I said I wish mine was a

little further up. But it's just so awesome when you take the glass out on a sunny day. All the other sunroofers know what I am talking about!
