dealer finally has all the suspension and spoiler items for my 2000 180Q. now says he's waiting for the "special tool" required to mount the spoiler. wants to do all the work (10 hours worth) on one day. what has been your experience with this? Also, they're to fix the cruise control and gas mileage computation problems that haven't been working since the last ECM and second gauge cluster rebash.

There was a blue fwd TT getting the mods and this tool which looks like a luggage rack (almost same size) was attached to the rear of the hatch. Its used to lineup the spoiler and mounting template so the holes are drilled in the correct locations.

First, THE SPOILERS COME FROM GERMANY PAINTED TO MATCH. If they are trying to tell you they have to paint something, then they are trying to unload a wrong-color spoiler. I saw my spoiler pre-install. It was Lake Silver Metallic. I aw another kit, too, and it was Denim Blue.
The spoiler install kit is a hard plastic suitcase that contains, best of my recollection:
-The alignment mount, a large unwieldy thing that they use to line up the drill holes. Let's just call it "The Spoiler Torture Device"
-An drill
-Drill bits
-Epoxy
-Cleaning solution to get any excess epoxy off the paint. It also works well on bug residue.![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
-assorted bolts, nuts and washers.
So, the spoiler is bolted on with a layer of epoxy, too for extra strength.
It took my dealer exactly 5.5 working hours to do the spoiler and the suspension. I was there after lunch Friday and the tech had just unbolted the front control arms and was about to get nutty with a crowbar when it was suggested that "I don't want to stick around for this next bit." Anyway, I was back at 5:30 and he was removing the "Spoiler Torture Device" and aligning the hatch latch.
This time included an alignment, which is necessary.
I hope this helps you understand the process.
Ivan

Thanks, I'll Rector in CA know that they're adding extra work by painting over. ;-)
I suspected as much and haven't figured out why the runaround.
