Default Swap a 1.8TQ with a 2.0T engine

Hi can some one tell me if its possible to replace a 1.8T with a 2.0T engine? or simply modify the 1.8T is more cost effective?

I am buying a TTQ225, any recommendation on what must/best be modified?

Default a 2.0T will dyno the same as a 1.8T/TT 225 - the engine is underrated

plus it's good for 270HP/320TQ with just chip + injectors...

Default the 2.0T is a better engine than the 225 1.8T

in fact, the 2.0T dynos higher than its 200hp listing.....have you driven the 2.0T engine yet? it's superb. way more refined and usable.

Default You mean the newer 2.0T? Uhhhhhh no. Different chassis means a ton of changes

both externally and in the wiring/ECU. Getting all the computers in the car to talk to one another would be a nightmare. That, and it probably wouldn't fit without custom machining some stuff. Massive project.

Although the 2.0T can be chipped to 250/260hp with ease, and large turbo kits are coming, you'd be better off financially to get the new TT when it arrives, and start there if you want a 2.0T.

Modding the 1.8t is by far the least expensive and most widely documented option.

Default How much money do you have?...>>

I'm assuming you mean punching the 1.8 out to 2.0? There are kits, pistons, rods, etc to do that at great expense. You can also buy complete 2.0 set-ups. Pretty much a waste of time unless you're doing a Major turbo and power upgrade. If you mean the new 2.0 motor, forget it. Totally different engine, electronics, etc. you'd never be able to save up enough money to make that swap practical.

What are you trying to accomplish? Torque? Power?

Default yes, but there's "no replacement for displacement"

I'm assuming that the 2.0 stands for 2 Litre...
But it's not that big of a jump in displacement for me to even want to try something like that. Now if it was 2.7, that's something to think about... 4.0, even better..

Power is less peaky than the 1.8t, so some people may feel it lacks the usual turbo zip.
