Default Temp gauge/overheating update..... TB done today>>>>

Had the timing belt done today at 86k! The temp gauge had been normal until 2 weeks ago when I had made the appt to get the belt changed where it started to creep one hash mark toward the hot end of the spectrum. Then a day and a half later, another hash mark. I was starting to freak out that the car wouldn't hold together until the appointment.... Hans and a few others stated I should check block 51 as they felt the cluster was shot. That gave me the confidence I needed and monitoring that for the next few days proved that the car was running as normal. Today the TB and water pump were replaced (metal impeller) and the gauge is still running "hot"..... seems the gauge is shot and the guys are going to see if they can correct it as is without having me go through the expense of an entire new cluster since everything else is working a-okay. Seems there was a fix for the same issue with A4s..... next time I'm in, if they can-do I'll let everyoen know. For now, me and block 51 will become daily friends.

I'm with ya. I'll see what the fix is and if it works. Don't expect anything soon though.

Default Wasn't at the stealer, went elsewhere today for my work.

they felt the A4 cluster fix may very well work in the TT and were going to research it by the time I make my next return. As that will encompass either a new clutch or the suspension overhaul, it won't be anytime soon with XMas on the way..... unless Santa and the Hanukkah fairy are very nice to me!!

Default Are you sure? Block 49 starts off showing >>>

30 deg cel in my car, when the car is stone cold! and block 51 shows ambient....

If block 49 is water, mine car runs warm. The range is anywhere between 98 deg cel to 105 deg cel....does 105 sound too warm???? Curious to hear impressions....

One other thing...VAG shows the car running between 199 farenheit and 200.....so i am confused....

TIA
