umm, i live in boston. heard of the big dig? i drive on crappy roads every day. no, it's not manhattan, but most of the folks in this forum don't drive in manhattan either, so who cares?
however, if the setup ever gets as harsh and clunky as the bilstein/eibach setup was from day one, you can be sure i'll be the first to let folks know.

Because of the road undulations and tight radius turn, you'd be all over the place on coilovers, lowered that low... you need height, travel, and quick damping... you'd never get that with a coilover.
You'll find many instances especially in residential areas, where coilover handling is far worse than shock and spring.
Plus.. if you're not corner balanced... forget it..your car is probably worse than stock.

i don't drive in nyc.
for where i do drive, this car is now so much more fun and pleasant to drive than either stock or the bilstein/eibach setup that there is just no comparison.
you're not going to convince me it's worse with your pseudo-technical talk. i know people who know suspensions, and i've learned enough from them to know that you're full of it.
ps. the "lowered that low" comments really crack me up. i'm about 1/2" lower than you are in the rear ... that's all.

i love my h&r CO setup and other can't believe the qality of the ride also (got the newer linear style spring in the rear) ...incidentily the rear setup has a large bearing in terms of ride quality... if you had a coilbound setup before i can see why your ride may have been harsh... which it shouldn't have been on those small doughy standard wheels and big tires u have

Audi didn't intend it. This is not a multilink suspension.. because of the mcphearson strut up front.. the whole geometry of the front suspension is thrown off by lowering to that height. Period.

Only the V1s and V2s are Koni units.
And even then, it's all about the tuning. Just because Brand X also uses a Koni unit does not mean it will handle/drive as well as the KWs.
