There is a "fluttering" sound when I let off the accelerator. Is this a DV problem?

Not sure if this what people have been experiencing with the DV failure. I wouldn't really describe the sound as "honking". The noise is definately coming from the engine, not the exhaust. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Default it very well could be, wha rpm is it happening in?

can you do it at will? Meaning, if you play with the throttle within an rpm range will the sound always be there?

If you answered yes to tat, then the DV is bad.

Default could be DV

sometimes the sound may be like a "chuff" or as you say, sort of a fluttering noise. you should notice it when you lift off the throttle, most noticeable during harder accelleration runs. you might not hear it every time.

Default what is shift range to you?

If you don't shift and just drive past 3,000 will you hear it if you back off?

Yes I would hear it then. Maybe it is the DV. Just sounds different than described here. Thanks.

Default That's exactly what happened with my TT...

right before the DV failed completely and my check engine light came on.
