Default Do you mean the pre-2002 or post-2002 springs (S-line)? (UK spec)...

I dunno how it is in the US but in the UK standard pre-2002 TTs were 25mm higher than the 2001 S-Line model and all post-2002 models.

Just curious

Default

Does that mean US TT's have UK equivalent pre-2002 or post-2002 ride height?

Default I was going to say...

Wouldn't a thicker rear arb alone induce oversteer rather than reduce understeer? (if u see what I'm getting at). It probably feels like the car is less understeery at more manageable speeds, but wouldn't it make the car more twitchy at high speed?

That is unless you drop the psi on the rears...

just a thought

Default And they won't be at Oz prices! $60K US for a 225TTQ!

Haven't decided if we're going yet. Chasing down
a few other possibilities and negotiating a bit.

To "sweeten" the deal, they offered a "company car",
but you can bet it won't be entirely my choice. They
also don't know that I WANT to spend money on a car! :> Oh well, maybe I can get a HSV or something. Nah, probably not - a Monaro, maybe... :>

I'll probably have to make a decision sometime
early to mid next month!

Default Actually....>

YOu increase pressure in the rear to balance the car. I've run with the bar for 3 years, pressures equal front and rear and have found it to be a good combo. There has been lots of discension here about this over the years and a lot of mis-information thrown around.... study this:

Chassis tuning

Default So you think stock springs, Bilstein HDs, and new swaybars all round>

would result in much improved handling without an unreasonably hard ride. Correct in assuming that this does not drop the ride height in any way though, right? I noticed your recommendation for 22's for the front sway, how about the back? Neuspeed also? What about bushings? And where do dogbones come in?

Default Bars increase..>>

The spring rate, but only in transition situations (turns). Otherwise the ride will remain close to the same. The Bilsteins will be a bit firmer but I actually felt my car rode better this way (as opposed to the deterorating Monroe's). The Neuspeed combination is excellent...No other options out there at the moment, although Hotchkiss is coming out with a set sometime in the future. The NS come with Poly bushings which is an improvement over the soft rubber stock bushings. Dogbone Poly's will better control the engine movement on the mounts, improve shifting precision etc. at a very small penalty in transmitted vibration at idle...

Hope that helps!

Default helps big time, thanks v. much! Tempted to go with stock springs, HDs and both sways>>

Do you think this would be a better option than say the complete Eibach spring/shock/sway kit?

Default Decide where you want to go...>

If you choose to lower later with Eibachs, you'll incur a second labor charge, as the operation is the same..

I decided to go with 18's so added the springs later. I do my own work, so it was just another 4 hours out of my life to do it all again. Keep in mind, the front bar install is a PITA and will require an alignment. Rear will require some camber correction also, even with a moderate drop..
