Default ResisTTance is FuTTile-

- Check for maintenance/SB issues, especially cluster replacement, temp sensor, and timing belt (every 60K, period)
- check for which LCA you have. There was a recall of some affected bushings
- some of these are finicky about the MAF and the coil pak. I have replaced neither, but have cleaned the MAF twice.
- when did the owner replace the struts/brake pads, etc? At 100K, you're probably going to need a clutch w/i 25K miles.

11K seems a little high. I have a 2000 TTQC w/ 100K that I believe is VGC or EXC, and I'd be hard pressed to say more than 10K. Check Edmonds, etc, for 'black book' value. If the car has options/mods, add accordingly.

Default A post about a '00 TT. You might want to look into the newer ones... 2002, '03 and up...

Default Re: Thinking of buying TT

My first TT was a 2000 180 coupe - fabulous car! For any used TT - condition, service history, and new timing belt are the main things. The clusters do fail a lot, but rebuilt replacements are appearing on some sites. I would buy a high mileage TT, but like any sports car you know that it will tend to be more costly to run than a Toyota Corolla.

Default OT - hey InTTruder did you have the LCA recall?

I checked with the dealer yesterday (I've owned the TT for about a year) and the VIN was not showing any recalls (except the original spoiler, "instability at high speeds" blah, blah, blah...)
