Default Yeah, a huge deal. It *must* be done on schedule. Breakage is costly, as it will ruin the engine.

Replacement is between $600-$1000k for the belt. Engine repair would be much more.

Default not a big deal....about $790-950

suggest that they also do the water pump while their in there for $250 more...the belt should be replaced every 50-60k miles...and inspected every 10k miles (takes 2-3 minutes...by unclipping the upper cover on the passneger side)...if not repaired the valves could crown the engine !!!

Default The seller indicates so in his description of the car and she has $75K miles! What da ya think? 8-(

Thank you for you reply and comments. Do you have any idea how much it would cost to do the timing belt, belt tensioner, water Pump and thermostat parts and labor. My Audi TT Quattro Roadster is a 2002 and has low miles. So, she is still under the Audi warranty. That's why I have no idea what this costs.

Thanks,
TToplayr

Default at 75K miles, it needs to be done. A dealer will charge you abt $1.5K for all that...

Still under warranty?
At 75K miles, the car from Audi is out of warranty
Was this an extended warranty?

If so, Audi, or the extended warranty company probably will not pay for this preventative maintenance if they are still covering you under warranty.

Not under warranty anymore because of the miles at 75K.
