Where did you buy them? I looked at Autozone and Pep Boys and couldn't find one that didn't look like it belonged in a '72 Nova.

Been looking online for the past 1/2 hour and I can't believe how tough it is to find a decent selection of 12V outlets. (I tried searching 12V outlet, 12V socket, 12 volt outlet, etc.)

Where can I get one that looks like it belongs in a TT?

I've had two different power plugs and got both from the dealer.

The first version is a VAG part that lights up.

I didn't need to buy a new side panel, but did anyway. I wasn't sure it would even fit!

I priced the flip out one for an A4 trunk at my dealer, about $48 iirc
